this kid is a friend of mine (on Southern By The Grace of God an MSN group) Wild Bill and Johnny J are also friends. His a great kid but most people are afraid to correct ppl that think like him . To bad for me that I have a big mouth and my fingers kinda follow along...
id never met my white grandparents until a couple years ago cause they stopped talking to my mom after she hooked up with a black man. i didnt really want to meet them cause after all they wanted nothing to do with me all that time. i still have problems with that. but from them i know how the old folks think. if you think im disgusting or whatever cause im biracial to bad. i dont give a crap anymore. there is no mention of color in the bible. jesus was afro/asiatic like the other jews of his day. have you ever seen the paintings of first century jews? he looked nothing like the man in the paintings we see everywhere today. before anyone throws a hissy fit im not saying jesus was a black man exactly but he looked more like me than the man man in the picture. anyway happy easter everybody. i know im enjoying my easter break

OldMiss, you are here for a reason. God wants the worship of all creation and that means you. Your future mission might be that which is unforeseen at this time and unimaginable but in time will unfold.

While this may be comforting, OldMiss, I would not rely on popular culture to teach anything commonly believed. Bust since you brought up what Jesus may have looked like here are some clues that are not taught today and there are many.
Does this mean that you should not believe in God? Why would you believe if He were only of color? If white, I ask why that would that change your faith at all?
Song of Solomon 5:10 -- My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
Lamentations 4:7 -- Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire...

I am FIRMLY against mixed race unions, whether they are legalized by marriage or not. In 27+ years of being an ordained minister I have never performed a marriage between a mixed race couple or a same sex couple. Whenever I have ever gone into a different church I have told them that I will refuse to do these types of unions. During the years (almost 9 years) that I worked in a management position with the Department of Corrections I was asked to officiate at quite a number of inmate weddings with their girlfriends while the man was incarcerated. Again, I would always ask if it was a mixed race couple. The Warden told me that it was my perogative whether to do the ceremony or not, so I could refuse if I didn't want to do it. I was always up front with it, and the only time anyone every got in a snit was one black inmate counsellor. She wanted me to do a wedding, and I asked her about the races of the bride and groom. When she asked why I wanted to know, I told her. She got a bit huffy, but that didn't change anything.

Wild Bill, a man has to stand for something, or he will fall for anything.
I applaud your conviction and your courage.

It appears that God was incarnate as a man here, OldMiss: John 1:6&7, 12-14&17 -- There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe...But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth...For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

A people that are not His people: Isaiah 44:5 -- One shall say, I am the Lord's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and ANOTHER shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
They possess the old places today: Ezekiel 36:5 -- Therefore Thus saith the Lord God; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

I believe you are speaking of Rev. 2:9 and 3:9.

This assumes that the land of Israel's first possession was never immigrated out. Take a look at Texas, California and lower Florida.
